Straight Oven Cook
●
No searing needed here.
●
Season the ribs well, place them in a baking dish, add your liquid, cover tightly with foil, and into the oven.
●
Apple cider vinegar as the braising liquid adds a really nice tanginess and helps keep the meat moist.
●
Cook at 300-325°F for about 2.5-3 hours covered.
The BBQ Sauce Finish
●
This is where country style ribs come alive.
●
After the covered cook, uncover them, drain or reduce the braising liquid, and paint the ribs generously with BBQ sauce — homemade is preferred, but a good store-bought works too.
●
Back in the oven uncovered for another 20-30 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and gets sticky.
Don't Overcook, Don't Undercook
●
Country style ribs will dry out if you push them too far, but they need enough time for the connective tissue to break down.
●
The covered braising phase does the heavy lifting — the liquid environment keeps them moist while the low heat tenderizes.
●
If they're tough, they need more time.
●
If they're dry, you went too long or didn't have enough liquid.
A Different Occasion
●
These aren't baby back ribs — they present differently and have a different texture and bite.
●
Think of them as the casual weeknight rib option.
●
Less fuss, less time, still satisfying.
●
They're great for when you want that BBQ rib experience without the full production.
