EasyPrep: 15 minCook: 20 minServes 2Stovetop
Ingredients
- ●1-1.5 lbs flank or skirt steak
- ●Teriyaki marinade (see Playbook)
- ●1 Cup rice
- ●2 Cup broccoli florets
- ●1 large onion, thinly sliced
- ●Chipotle mayo (see Playbook)
- ●Olive oil
- ●Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- ●Sesame seeds (optional)
Assembly
- 1.Marinate the steak in teriyaki marinade for at least 2 hours, overnight is best.
- 2.Start your rice in a rice cooker.
- 3.Roast or pan-cook the broccoli until it has some char.
- 4.Thinly slice the onion and cook low and slow in a pan with a little oil until caramelized.
- 5.Sear the steak in a hot pan or on the grill — about 3-4 minutes per side for medium rare. Let it rest, then slice thin against the grain.

- 8.Top with crushed red pepper flakes and sesame seeds if desired.

The Story
“The flavor combination here is what makes this bowl special — the sweet teriyaki steak with smoky chipotle mayo is a pairing that works way better than you'd expect. Marinate the steak, sear or grill it, slice thin against the grain, and build your bowl. The caramelized onions add sweetness that ties the teriyaki and chipotle together. This is a great meal prep bowl too.”
